POETRY: "HER WICKED PACK OF CARDS"

"HER WICKED PACK OF CARDS" (*)
My tarot card
Was drawn.
The Moon it was.
Obsessed with Time
I ran
Towards you.
To find you
And save you
From the carnivorous
Shells.
The Moon
Was Watching
And when I drank
The sea water
It whispered:
"You had the mind
Of the Fool.
They will devour you
From the inside."

I nodded
And smiled
The smile
Of the inverted Devil.

(*): Echoing Eliot's line in "The Wasteland", "Madame Sosostris had a wicked pack of cards" the poem refers to popular tarot cards (the Moon, the Devil, the Fool/ Hanged Man) and their relevant meanings, but only superficially.
